In the fall of 2023, our most ambitious and extensive catio project took shape in the tranquil surroundings of Chesterfield, New Jersey. This project was not just a build; it was a creation of a cat paradise, unparalleled in size and features.
The entire setup sprawled over an impressive seven hundred square feet, segmented into four unique catio structures. These were ingeniously linked by over one hundred feet of tunnels, ensuring a seamless and adventurous experience for the cats. A team of four of our finest builders dedicated twenty days to bring this vision to life, showcasing their craftsmanship and dedication.
Catio 1 | Details
Catio 1, a significant part of this project, was a 10x10 structure rising 10 feet high. This sizeable area provided ample space for the cats to roam, play, and relax. The catio was accentuated with a unique feature: a cat house extending from one section of the tunnel into the surrounding forest, offering cats a sense of adventure and exploration.
This catio was equipped with a custom cat tree, a blend of artistry and functionality. Handcrafted to mimic the natural environment, this tree served as a bridge between a traditional scratching post and a climbing tree, allowing cats to indulge in their natural climbing and scratching instincts.
Eleven cat shelves were strategically placed around Catio 1, including ten 11-inch shelves and one larger 2-foot shelf, providing various perching and lounging options. Additionally, the catio featured a cat cubby with a charming cat-shaped cutout, adding a personalized and whimsical touch.
Catio 2 | Details
Catio 2, the larger of the two, was a marvel in itself. Spanning 240 square feet, it provided an expansive playground for the cats. This catio echoed the features of Catio 1, with a custom cat tree, protective skirting, and twenty-one cat shelves, ensuring ample space and activities for the cats.
A standout feature of Catio 2 was the inclusion of an outdoor sectional, a luxurious addition that offered the cats a plush, comfortable space to relax and enjoy the outdoor ambiance. This feature underscored our commitment to creating spaces that cater to the well-being and comfort of the cats.
Both catios were designed with meticulous attention to detail, featuring stain and caulking to ensure longevity and a polished look. The classic rib steel roof panels protected the cats from the elements, while the various cat shelves, cubbies, and hammocks provided endless opportunities for play and relaxation.
The tunnel system, a key component of this project, included twenty doors for easy access and maintenance, and a mini cat house located above the pond in the woods, offering an exclusive retreat for the cats.
In conclusion, this catio build in Chesterfield, New Jersey, was a groundbreaking project in our portfolio. It not only showcased our expertise in building catios but also our commitment to enhancing the lives of cats. Catio 1 and Catio 2, with their thoughtful design, custom features, and ample space, provided a safe, stimulating, and luxurious outdoor environment for cats, setting a new benchmark in the realm of catios.
